St. John's Wood ,London for producerMickie Most (Hot Chocolate ,Kim Wilde ,Chris Spedding andRacey ). He also worked with producerSteve Lillywhite (Psychedelic Furs andThompson Twins ).Based on his engineering work with the
Psychedelic Furs , Thornalley became the producer forThe Cure on their fourth album, "Pornography". AfterSimon Gallup quit in 1982, he filled in as their bassist during the recording of "Japanese Whispers " and their first live album, "Concert" but eventually quit to keep on working behind the consoles.In 1984 he was nominated for a
Grammy Award for Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical for "Into the Gap " by theThompson Twins .Thornalley has worked as a mixing engineer for
