Cam Fella burst onto the scene in the 1982 Hopeful pacing sereis, which he completely dominated, paying $2.10 to win in almost every start. Later that summer, he won the
Cane Pace andMessenger Pace . In the Cane Pace, he paid $14.00 and $8.80 to win the elimination and final, respectively, over the heavily favored Merger both times. During his career he also won thePrix d'Été , theProvincial Cup , theCanadian Pacing Derby , and theUnited States Pacing Championship , among other important races. He was voted North American harness horse of the year in 1982 and 1983. His most notable win in 1983 came over Its Fritz in a challenge race at the Meadowlands (both horses went off at 3-5).He was retired to stud in 1984 with over two million dollars in earnings. His stud career was exceptionally successful. Among his offspring are
