Anthony Segwart de Rosenroll (born:
December 4 ,1857 Castellammare del Golfo ,Italy - died: 1945) was a politician, rancher, real estate agent and insurance salesman fromAlberta ,Canada .Early life
Rosenroll spent much of his early years traveling across Canada and the United States. He finally settled in Wetaskiwin, Northwest Territories in 1896 and started ranching and grain farming. In addition to his ranch he started a number of other commodity based enterprises including Lumber, Coal, Dairy, Real estate and Insurance. In 1898 just two years after moving to Wetaskiwin he would become the towns first Member in the Territorial Assembly. Political career
He was first elected to
Northwest Territories legislative assembly in 1898 and re-elected in 1902. In both Northwest Territories elections, he was acclaimed. Alberta became a province he was elected to the first legislative assembly in the 1905 Alberta general election for theAlberta Liberal Party . He would serve one term in the provincial legislature.After his territorial and political career Rosenroll made an attempt at Federal politics running for the Strathcona Liberal nomination against
James McCrie Douglas . Rosenroll lost the nomination but was supported by the German-speaking community.The town of
