Jonathan FeBland (born
October 19 ,1960 ) trained at theRoyal Academy of Music , London (1978-1982) and has written music in a wide range of different compositional styles, although there is usually some underlyingtonality to his work. He has writtencontemporary serious music , light/educational music, andjazz in a number of different genres.His work is published by
Universal Edition and Sibelius Music.Louis Demetrius Alvanis will release FeBland's "Piano Colours" CD on the Meridian label in October, 2008. Deborah de Graaff (clarinet) has also been involved with CD recordings of FeBland's music; some of these are already proving popular with radio stations such asABC Classic FM (Australia).Andrew Doyle (Clarinet) and Trio B3 Classic (Piano, Clarinet & Cello) have also recently recorded FeBland compositions on CD.
Recent compositions in the
jazz idiom have included "12 Jazz Piano Pieces", "3 Jazz Etudes (for Piano)" and a dynamic single-movement "Jazz Symphony in 33 Grooves".Since 2005 he has received music premières in Caracas, Sydney, Essen, Berlin, Bonn, Biarritz, Bilbao, Valencia, Lucerne, London and Paris.
