Saad Akbar Babrak (? - 16 October, 1951), an AfghanFact|date=September 2008 of PashtunFact|date=September 2008 ethnicity, assassinated the first Prime Minister of Pakistan, Liaqat Ali Khan.Fact|date=September 2008 Akbar belonged to the same Zadran tribe as Pacha Khan Zadran. On October 16, 1951, during a public meeting, Saad shot Liaqat twice in a park in Rawalpindi, Pakistan. The assassin was killed by police officers seconds later, so it is not clear what his motive was, but it has been speculated that it was related to Liaqat Ali Khan making inflammatory comments regarding Afghanistan at the time of his shooting. Liaqat was rushed to a hospital where he was given a blood transfusion, but he succumbed to his injuries.
