The Canadian House of Commons has passed a Private Member's Bill, Bill C-307, that will require a reassessment of benzyl butyl phthalate by the Minister of Health and the Minister of Environment. As of January, 2008, it still requires Senate approval. In 2008 four sellers of BBP were sanctioned by the Belgian Competition Council for participating in a cartel.
