Thoroughbred race horse bred by Sir Tatton Sykes. He was out of the mare Maid of the Mint by Minting and sired by theNew Zealand runner/stallion, Carbine, aNew Zealand Racing Hall of Fame andAustralian Racing Hall of Fame inductee.Purchased by Major Eustace Loder, Spearmint was trained by
Peter-Purcell Gilpin . The colt's racing career was limited due to health problems and he made only five starts, winning three times, including the 1906Epsom Derby , England's most prestigious flat race, and atLongchamp Racecourse , France's most important race at the time, theGrand Prix de Paris .As a sire
