Boomtown Records

Boomtown Records is an independent record label founded in October 2002 and based in Melbourne, Australia.

History

Label Director Jaddan Comerford started Boomtown when he was 18, after being inspired by thriving independent labels like Epitaph Records. After operating the label out of his basement, Comerford moved into an office building in 2005. Boomtown had its first ever "Boomtown Showdown Tour" in 2006, showcasing the label’s talent around the nation, which sold out to 800 people in Melbourne.

#The "Boomtown Showdown Tour" continued in 2007, featuring The Getaway Plan, In Fiction, The Amity Affliction and Elora Danan and included the first ever Boomtown Showdown shows in Western Australia.

The Getaway Plan (Melbourne) - Currently at #31 on the ARIA charts in the 2nd week of releasing their debut album 'Other Voices, Other Rooms'. The album debuted at #14 on the ARIA charts and #3 on the Australian ARIA charts and #1 on the AIR charts. The band is currently touring the album.

In Fiction (Adelaide) - Currently recording their debut album, and playing Soundwave Festival in Adelaide on Saturday March 1st, 2008.

The Amity Affliction (Brisbane) - Having toured the country 8 times during 2007, the band are in between shows preparing the release their debut album this year. In 2007, the band toured the country with Underoath, Emery, He Is Legend and more!

Horsell Common (Melbourne) - Released their debut album 'The Rescue' in September 2007 and toured recently with Gyroscope and Kisschasy. Currently on tour with Shihad then heading off yet again on a headline tour this time, with friends Trial Kennedy and Mere Theory, before drummer Leigh Pengelly leaves the band officially on Saturday March 5th, with the last show being that night at the Corner Hotel in Melbourne. A replacement drummer will be announced soon.

Mere Theory (Adelaide) - Released their debut album 'Catalan Atlas' in 2007, and will head off on tour again with Horsell Common in the coming months.

Elora Danan (Perth) - Released their debut Mini-Album 'We All Have Secrets' in 2007 and have toured the Boomtown Showdown in 2007 and are about to go on tour with The Getaway Plan as main support on their album tour.

#Boomtown Records also have exclusive deals with American artists Blackpool Lights, Lifetime, Copeland and Jonah Matranga with recent albums.
