Neil Cossar

Neil Cossar is a British disc jockey and former professional guitarist.

He was the guitarist in The Cheaters, formed in 1979, who were signed to Parlophone amongst others. The band had the UK 'airplay hits' "Spirit In The Sky" in 1981 and "Confidante"in 1982, before splitting in 1985. They are credited with the definitive version of "Baby What You Want", issued on Pre-Fab in 1980.

Cossar then joined a team who launched KFM radio in Stockport (later to become Signal Cheshire and Imagine FM) presenting an alternative music show, that featured debut UK sessions from artists such as Radiohead, Dodgy, Blur, The Cranberries, The Charlatans, The Pixies and Lenny Kravitz.

Cossar now runs Absolute PR, a regional UK radio & TV promotions company with his partner Liz Sanchez. He is the founder of the This Day In Music on-line magazine, which was published as the book 'This Day In Music - An Every Day Record of 10,000 Musical Facts' in November 2005.
