Justin Michael York (born
November 26 ,1983 inLos Angeles, California ) was theguitarist ofChristian rock band Tait. He joined the band in2001 when he was barely 19 years old, replacingPete Stewart . He subsequently left the band in2006 . In early 2007 he co-produced a rock album for the bandOver Ashes , due to release in July.When Justin was five years old, he and his family moved to
Nashville, Tennessee where he grew up in a veryChristian and musically gifted family. It was his father, Peter York (a music executive atSparrow Records ), himself a skilled guitarist, who taught Justin the instrument.When he was a teen, Justin got his first major chance to play guitar professionally when
Phil Joel (of theNewsboys ) invited him to work on his solo album. Justin has had numerous opportunities since then, playing for Paul Alan, Sammy Ward,Steven Curtis Chapman , Joy Williams, andRebecca St James .Justin York just finished co-producing new American
Christian Rock bandOver Ashes with production partnerJustin Glasco .Justin also has a side-project called Cecil Adora, that he is involved in with Ryan Clark, and Van Beasley. As of June 2008 they are currently on hiatus.
