Andre "Bubba" Caldwell (born April 15, 1985 in Tampa, Florida) is an American football wide receiver for the Cincinnati Bengals of the National Football League. He played college football for the University of Florida. He is the younger brother of former UF star Reche Caldwell, who plays for the St. Louis Rams.

Early life

Caldwell was a quarterback who also lined up at receiver and returned punts for Tampa's Jefferson High School. He was named a Parade All-American following his senior season in 2002. In part because of his brother's legacy–and his friendship with Florida commitment Chris Leak, Caldwell chose to play for the Gators. He played in the 2003 U.S. Army All-American Bowl.

College career

His first season in college resulted in just 19 catches, and he was kept out of the end zone. His sophomore season in 2004 saw an increase to 43 catches and 3 receiving touchdowns, as well as two rushes for 66 yards and one score.

He received a medical redshirt for the 2005 season after fracturing his leg in an early-season game against Tennessee.

In his junior season he was the Gators' second leading wide receiver in catches (57), yards (577), and touchdowns (6). He also threw for a touchdown pass in the 2006 SEC Championship Game. He helped the team to win the first BCS Championship Game and second national championship in team history in 2006. He announced days after the game he would return to Florida for his senior season. In his senior season, Caldwell recorded a career-high 761 yards and 7 touchdowns on 56 receptions. He also had 12 carries for 58 yards and a touchdown. During the season, Caldwell had 100-yard receiving games against Western Kentucky, Vanderbilt, South Carolina, and Florida Atlantic.

Professional career

Andre Caldwell was picked 97th overall in the 2008 NFL Draft by Cincinnati Bengals.
