STEIM

STudio for Electro-Instrumental Music (STEIM) is a Center for Research and Development of instruments and tools for performers in the electronic performance arts. Located in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

Among the significant software tools that were developed at STEIM are LiSa, a sound manipulation software designed for live performance, and Image/ine, written by Tom Demeyer in close collaboration with Steina Vasulka, which was the first Macintosh program to allow realtime manipulation of video.
