London Midland and Scottish Railway (LMS) Jubilee Class 5596 (BR number 45596) "Bahamas" is a preserved British steam locomotive.Overview
5596 was built in
1935 by theNorth British Locomotive Company inGlasgow . She was named "Bahamas" in1936 after theBahamas , which were then part of theBritish Empire . After nationalisation in1948 , "Bahamas" was renumbered 45596. In1961 she was unusually fitted with a double blastpipe and chimney. She was withdrawn in1966 but subsequently preserved and currently based at theKeighley and Worth Valley Railway .External links
