Career
Butler, a native of
Mt. Juliet, Tennessee , attended theUniversity of Florida from 1990 to 1994 and started for four years at guard under then-head coach Carol Ross. After her playing career, she transitioned into coaching. Her first job as an assistant coach was at Florida, where she continued her education with aMaster of Science in exercise and sport science in 1997. After leaving her job with Florida in 1997, she coached at Austin Peay (1997-2001), and served as the associate head coach for former Charlotte head coachKatie Meier from 2001 to 2005.Butler became the sixth head coach of the Charlotte 49ers women's basketball program on
