Batty made 12 appearances for the Football Kingz in their inaugral season in the
A-League 1n 1999 before a brief spell inEngland with Grimsby Town on a non contract basis inOctober 2000. He failed to dislodge regular shot stopperDanny Coyne and understudySteve Croudson . After only three months he left the club and joined Scunthorpe United on similar terms but left a few months later after failing to make an appearance. He then briefly played for Stalybridge Celtic.He is currently the goalkeeper coach for the
