alternative comedy scene, Behrendt came up as a performer alongside comics likeDavid Cross (with whom he roomed for years) andPatton Oswalt . Behrendt was a consultant for two 2001 episodes of the popular television show "Sex and the City ", and co-wrote the "New York Times " best sellers "He's Just Not That Into You " and "It's Called a Breakup Because It's Broken ". He has appeared regularly on "The Tonight Show " and "Late Night with Conan O'Brien ". His stand up special, "Greg Behrendt is Uncool", debuted onComedy Central in January of 2006. In June 2006, he appeared on "Celebrity Poker Showdown ", playing for a domestic violence charity (he came in second in the tournament). Greg is a recovering alcoholic, and has been sober for 12 years, according to an interview done September 25, 2008 with 98KUPD 's morning show Holmberg's Morning Sickness.In his early years, Greg started doing stand-up and improv comedy in San Francisco. The Greg Behrendt Show " on Tuesday, September 12, 2006.Sony Pictures Television announced in January 2007 that the series would not have a second season, and the show aired its last new episodes in February 2007. He also did a midseason replacement program for the 2006-07 television season called "Greg Behrendt's Wake-Up Call" for ABC, which never aired. It is being picked up by Soapnet, according to Behrendt in a radio interview with John Holmberg from 98KUPD in Arizona on September 25, 2008.Behrendt is currently living in Los Angeles with his wife, Amiira Ruotola-Behrendt, and their two children.
