Jörn-Uwe Fahrenkrog-Petersen ("Uwe") (born
March 10 ,1960 ) is a keyboard player and songwriter, known for his work with the German rock groupNena .Born in
Berlin he first played in a band called "Odessa" in 1980 with bassistJürgen Dehmel . The two joinedNena in 1981 and played with the group until 1987. When the band split, he moved in New York.There, he formed a band called
VoodooX (as keyboard player and backing vocalist) withJean Beauvoir (formerly ofThe Plasmatics andLittle Steven 's Disciples of Soul). Their one album release was "Vol. 1: The Awakening" (1989). When the band split, Uwe went back to Berlin.In 2001, he composed the soundtrack for the movie "
All the Queen's Men ".In 2002, he also composed the soundtrack for the film "
Igby Goes Down ".He is also a regular in various mini TV projects in Germany. His family live in
Berlin .Uwe's brother Lutz, who is two years younger, also played with Nena, usually while touring.
He has recently, since Nena's comeback with "Nena feat. Nena", been helping Nena in her solo career. Many people think they are a great duo, since Nena supposedly had more success with Uwe than without him.
In 2006 he produced part of singer
Kim Wilde 's comeback album "Never Say Never", which reached the top 20 in most European contries.References
