reservoir in theEast Midlands ofEngland formed by the damming of theEye Brook . It straddles the border betweenLeicestershire (to the west) andRutland (to the east).It was built during the 1930s by Stewarts and Lloyds to supply water to their steel works at
Corby , now part of Corus. During theSecond World War it was used as a practice site for thedambuster raids. It has been atrout fishery since 1942 and is now aSite of Special Scientific Interest . Nearby villages areStoke Dry , to the north, and Caldecott, to the south and near the dam.Eyebrook is an ideal place for bird watching.External links
