Union Park (Pittsburgh)

Union Park (Pittsburgh)

Union Park is a defunct nineteenth-century baseball park in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where it served as the home field for amateur baseball teams in the decades following the Civil War.

Three amateur teams—the Enterprise Club, the Olympics, and the Xanthus—played most of their games there. Seating capacity was 2,500. The park was located in Allegheny City, (which since 1907 is a part of the city of Pittsburgh). In 1876 the Allegheny club played its first game against Xanthus at Union Park, winning 7-3.
