Trinity term

Trinity term is the name of the third and final term of Oxford University's [ [http://www.ox.ac.uk/about_the_university/university_year/dates_of_term.html Oxford University: Dates of Full Terms.] ] and Dublin University's [ [http://www.tcd.ie/about/calendar/importantdates/termdates.php Trinity College Dublin: Term Dates.] ] academic year. It runs from about mid April to about the end of June and is named after Trinity Sunday, which falls eight weeks after Easter, in May or June.

At the University of Sydney, it was the second and coldest of the three terms, running from the 24th to the 34th Mondays of the year (late May to early August) in the middle of winter, until Sydney swapped over to the two semester system in 1989 [ [http://calendararchive.usyd.edu.au/Calendar/ University of Sydney, Calendar Archive] ] .

The term is also one of four into which the legal year is divided by the Courts of England and Wales, from May 22 to June 12, during which the superior courts were formerly open.
