Although this district is near
Kathmandu - the capital city of Nepal, it is one of the least developed districts in Nepal. The Araniko Highway links this district withTibet of China and Kathmandu. The tourist places of this district are Langtang National Park, Langtang Himal, Jugal Himal, Panch Pokhari, Tato pani, Gaurati Bhimeswor etc. This district is a mountainous(hilly) district. People here depend wholly on agriculture for their survival. Sindhupalchok has produced famous singers like Raju Lama, Jaynanda Lama, Resham Thapa, Ghamesh Dulal etc, actors like Shree Krishna Shrestha, Late Shrisha Karki, Jeetu Nepal, Gopal Nepal (Fiste), Deviram Parajuli(Bhok Lagyo) etc., poets like Chandra Prakash Neupane, politicians like Pashupati Shamsher JBR, Amrit Kumar Bohora, Bishnu Bikram Thapa. Rivers like Bhotekoshi,Indrawati, Sunkoshi, Bramhayani (Balephi) flow through this district. The major towns are Chautara, Barhabise, Melamchi, Jalbire, Tatopani etc.
This district is easily accessible from Kathmandu but still due to various reasons it is not well developed and called as remote district. The corrupt politicians and civil servants who are there just to fill their stomach but don't think about local people are responsible for this condition. The educational condition is very bad in this district. For higher education, those who can afford go to Kathmandu. Otherwise they have to leave the education and do farming. Many people go abroad like UAE, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Qatar etc for employment. The responsible persons are mute about the welfare of local community. There are few students from this district who are able to study after provisional levels. Gyanendra Shrestha, Jhanak Parajuli, Durga Bhandari, Bikash Thapa are some of the few engineering students of this district who really bother about the development of this district.
*Education Status Shree Krishna Ratna Ganga Higher Secondary School is the leading and pioneer school of this district situated in Chautara which has produced lots of new faces from Sindhupalchok.Nagendra Dangal is the principal of this school. Some leading private schools are Jyugal Boarding High School, Ekata Boarding School. Dr. Jayandra Shrestha is the founder principal of Jyugal Boarding School. This school gives quality education and serving for decades.ee also
