Wagëblë

Wagëblë

Wagëblë is a hip-hop group from Senegal, in West Africa. Their producers are Norwegian. They organise concerts in schools throughout Senegal, and their lyrics focus on the troubles that their country struggles with and its past, present and the move into the future. The three members have the assumed names of Waterflow, Eyewitness, and DJ Icare.

Wagëblë's latest offering was released in September 2005, entitled "Sénégal" - also the title of the second single.

Produced and promoted in Norway, the band also shot the videos for the album in Oslo in winter, 2005 - the second of which was produced in a tiny green-screen space, with Senegal digitally "pasted" into the backgrounds.
