George Reddy

George Reddy was the founder of the Revolutionary Students Movement in Andhra Pradesh. He was a university gold medalist, a mark of academic excellence. He was the founder of the Progressive Democratic Students Union [ [http://www.cpimlnd.org/progressive-democratic-students-union-pdsu/programme-document-of-pdsu.html Programme Document of the PDSU] , from cpimlnd.org, the official website of the CPI-ML-New Democracy] , which was a student body on the campus of Osmania University, and is now the youth wing of the Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) New Democracy.

Reddy was murdered on campus by Jan Sangh sympathizers within sight of the police ["Economic and Political Weekly", Vol. 4, no 1, p 1302 (Jan. 1969). .] .

Note: The above is an incorrect reference as George Reddy was murdered on the Osmania University Campus in 1972, not 1969 or prior (in order for the reference to be valid).

Reddy is supposedly the inspiration for the lead character Michael in the movie Yuva, by Maniratnam.
