Runako Shakur Morton (born July 22, 1978 in Nevis) is a West Indian cricketer. He is a right-handed batsman and a right-handed offbreak bowler.

A lively, often unpredictable character, Morton was expelled from the West Indian cricketing Academy in July 2001 for bad behaviour [ [http://content-uk.cricinfo.com/dlfcup/content/story/101175.html Morton Expelled From Academy] , Cricinfo, Retrieved on 20 January 2008] , he continued to play for the Leeward Islands in the Busta Cup. Upon his return in February 2002, he was called into the West Indian squad as a replacement for Marlon Samuels, but he was alienated once again when he lied about his non-appearance in the ICC Champions Trophy in September 2002.

Following a stabbing incident in January 2004, he was arrested [ [http://content-aus.cricinfo.com/ci/content/story/134616.html Morton arrested after stabbing incident] , Cricinfo, Retrieved on 20 January 2008] , but was called once again for a third chance at cricketing glory in May 2005 for the South African Test.

He is famous for a bizarre run-out between himself and Shivnarine Chanderpaul in the 3rd Test of New Zealand vs West Indies Test series of 2006. Morton hit the ball to mid-on where Daniel Vettori was fielding. Sensing a run, Morton ran to the non striker end. Non striker Chanderpaul initially took a few steps and then went back to the non strikers end. Morton believed he was out, and furious at his captain began to walk off. However the third umpire viewed the footage and judged that Morton grounded his bat at the non striker end before Chanderpaul and hence he was safe. Chanderpaul was instead judged to be out. He hits the ball very hard, but often has problems picking up singles in between boundaries.

Morton has the dubious record of the slowest ODI duck which lasted 31 balls in the final of the DFL Cup against Australia [ [http://content-uk.cricinfo.com/dlfcup/content/story/260465.html Morton makes the record books ... for the wrong reason] , Cricinfo, Retrieved on 20 January 2008] .
