The Aprilia RST1000 Futura is a sport-touring motorcycle produced by Aprilia from 2001 to 2004. It is equipped with a V2 four-stroke liquid-cooled engine producing 113 horsepower (85 kW) at 9250 rpm and 96 newton-metres (71 ft·lbf). The bike is set up with a 6-speed transmission and is chain-driven with factory electric start and fuel-injection. Its factory-fresh dry weight is 210 kilograms (463 lb).

The "Futura" incorporated an aluminium-alloy, double-parallel-beam frame together with a new single rear-swingarm, as well as included hard-shelled sidebags. Other features included electronic fuel injection, CDI type ignition with a Twin Spark Ignition system using 2 spark plugs per cylinder, dry crankcase lubrication, mixed gear/chain timing, anti-vibration double-countershaft (AVDC) double balancing countershaft, and power-assisted hydraulic-controlled clutch covered by the (Aprilia patented) Pneumatic Power Clutch (PPC) to control rear-wheel bounce during sudden deceleration. The bike's bulky, angular shape divided critics: some thought it was innovative and made it "look like an F-117" [cite web|url=http://www.motorcycle-usa.com/Article_Page.aspx?ArticleID=2632|title=2003 Aprilia RST1000 Futura|author=Kevin Duke] while others said it was just too bulky. Other manufacturers began using similar angularity in their designs, such as the 2002 Honda VFR800/Interceptor, which used almost identical ergonomics.
