Augustine Owen Eguavoen (born
August 19 ,1965 inSapele ,Nigeria ) is the former caretaker coach of theNigerian national football team (the Super Eagles).Playing career
Eguavoen was a member of the Nigerian squad that qualified for the country's first ever World Cup and won the African Nations Cup in the same year.
During his varied career Eguavoen began his career with ACB in his native
Nigeria , before moving onto Gent,K.V. Kortrijk ,CD Ourense ,Sacramento Scorpions , Torpedo Moscow and finished his career coaching inMalta the Sliema Wanderers.Coaching career
Eguavoen was appointed the caretaker coach of Nigeria in June 2005 with his coaching staff including
Samson Siasia ,Daniel Amokachi andIke Shorunmu .He also had a short stint at
South Africa nPremier Soccer League sideBlack Leopards in March 2008. Currently he is an assistant atEnyimba F.C. of Aba.External reference
