Louisville, Kentucky , United States. Before becoming an actor, Hensley worked on a horse ranch inWyoming . Hensley's parents divorced when he was 3. He and his sister split their time between both parents, but did not seem to mind this arrangement. At the age of 7, he was involved in an unfortunate kitchen fire, resulting in lesions and other permanent facial scarring. It wasn't until he was fourteen that he received skin grafts from the same surgeon who presided over many ofMichael Jackson 's rumored plastic surgeries. Hensley admits that these events have lead to his very distinguishable features.Hensley did not intend to act before he auditioned for a school play. Although he was not cast, he was hooked on acting. He decided to take a week long trip to New York, where he met his future manager. He says that he would have been just as content to wrangle horses on the farm if acting had not panned out. He did not choose acting as a permanent career before he got a call back from his soon-to-be manager.
Hensley's first major role was playing Luke Madigan on the TV series "
Madigan Men ". His next television role was Gabriel Bowman on the series "Witchblade ." Currently, Hensley portrays troubled teen Matt McNamara on the FX drama "Nip/Tuck ". His film appearances have included "Campfire Stories", "Peoples" and "Fifty Pills".Hensley plays on the
