Shrew moles (or shrew-moles) and mole shrews (or mole-shrews) are two distinct groups of animals.
Shrew moles
Any of seven species of mole in the family Talpidae that resemble shrews:
- Four species in the subfamily Uropsilinae, or "shrew-like moles", native to China:
- Anderson's Shrew Mole (Uropsilus andersoni)
- Gracile Shrew Mole (Uropsilus gracilis)
- Inquisitive Shrew Mole (Uropsilus investigator)
- Chinese Shrew Mole (Uropsilus soricipes)
- Two species in the tribe Urotrichini, or "himizu", native to Japan:
- Japanese Shrew Mole (Urotrichus talpoides)
- True's Shrew Mole (Dymecodon pilirostris)
- One species in the tribe Neutrichini, native to Pacific North America:
- Shrew-Mole (Neurotrichus gibbsii), "American Shrew Mole." Officially simply called "Shrew-Mole."

Any of six species of shrew that resemble moles:
- Two species in the genus Surdisorex, native to Kenya:
- Aberdare Mole Shrew (Surdisorex norae)
- Mt. Kenya Mole Shrew (Surdisorex polulus)
- Four species in the genus Anourosorex, native to Asia:
- Assam Mole Shrew (Anourosorex assamensis)
- Giant Mole Shrew (Anourosorex schmidi)
- Chinese Mole Shrew (Anourosorex squamipes). Sometimes simply called "Mole Shrew."
- Taiwanese Mole Shrew (Anourosorex yamashinai)
