Pulimamidi

Pulimamidi is a village in India about 20 kilometers from Nalgonda in the state of Andhra Pradesh on Nalgonda to Nagarjuna Sagar route. The river Halya goes through this village. The main political parties are the Congress Party, Telugu Desam Party and the Telngarana Rastra Samathi Party.

In telugu, puli means tiger and Mamidi means mango tree. Pulimamidi is used as a last name by many families thought to have originated from this village. Pulimamidi families are in Bhuvanagiri Village of Nalgonda district.The Alugubelli family is the most prosperous family in the village.

The financial status of people in this village is quite good and the fact is that there is no onewho does not own at least convert|1|acre|m2|sing=on of land. In that way it is a rich village compared to many villages in India.

There is a Hanuman temple in the village where every year Sri Rama Navami is celebrated.In addition to this Bonalu which is a unique festival in Telangana, Vinayaka Chaviti are alsocelebrated with huge participation of villagers. With new scheme of our former prime minister Athal Bihari Vajpayee, this village got a good road connecting Nagarjuna Sagar-Nalgonda road. This helps the villagers to transport vegetable etc.

Recently the school has been upgraded and now children of villagers can study up to the 10th standard in their own village itself. There are many successful people belonging to this village who are in North America, Russia, Europe settled in different professions..
