(1988)"The Stranglers and Friends: Live in Concert" is a live album by
The Stranglers .Back in the spring of 1980,
Hugh Cornwell found himself a "guest" atPentonville Prison (for drugs possession). With two gigs scheduled at the London Rainbow for3 April and4 April , the management decided to turn things around by approaching a number of well known artists (includingJohn Ellis ,Toyah Willcox ,Peter Hammill andHazel O'Connor , amongst others) to fill in for the absent Cornwell. "The Stranglers and Friends: Live in Concert" chronicles this event for posterity. In 2002, this album was re-released on the Castle Music label with new art-work and sleeve-notes.Track listing

"The Stranglers & Friends Live in Concert" contains the same tracks (not in the same order), except "Grip", "Hanging Around", "Bear Cage" and "Peaches". The exclusion of these tracks certainly makes this package less desirable than the previous offering and its subsequent re-release.
