The Monkey and the Cat

"The Monkey and the Cat", or "Le Singe et le Chat", is a fable written by French poet Jean de La Fontaine. As with all of his fables, "The Monkey and the Cat" is written in verse and appeared in La Fontaine's second compilation of "Fables", book IX, No. 17, in 1679.
