Peaks Ice Arena is an indoor
ice hockey arena inProvo, Utah . It was built in1997 and when finished for the Olympics had a capacity of 8,500. Since then, the majority of seating has been removed to allow the space for other uses, and the current capacity is now around 1,800. Some of the ice hockey games from the2002 Winter Olympics were held at this arena, along with theE Center inWest Valley City, Utah .The arena is home to the Peaks Figure Skating Club, where figure skaters can come together and enjoy one another while progressing within their sport. The arena also serves as home ice for
ACHA collegiate hockey teams for bothUtah Valley University andBrigham Young University , high school teams including Timpanogos, Utah County Independents, Lehi, Payson, and Springville, as well as the Timpanogos Amateur Hockey Association (TAHA).The arena was built at a cost of $12 million funded with $6 million from the Salt Lake Olympic Committee and $2 million each from Seven Peaks Management owner Max Rabner, the city of Provo, and
Utah County .
