Vitālijs Astafjevs ( _ru. Виталий Астафьев) (born April 3, 1971 in Riga) is a football midfielder from Latvia. As of April 2008 he has played 142 international matches and scored 14 goals for the Latvia national team. He debuted in 1992 when the national team was established, and played at the Euro 2004. He started his career in FC Skonto, and has since played for Austria Vienna, Bristol Rovers F.C., Admira Wacker, Rubin Kazan and now again he has returned to FC Skonto. He is one of the most capped active players at the moment.
