Ghana . It is the capital ofAbura-Asebu-Kwamankese district.The Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese District was carved out of the Mfantseman, Ajumako and Akumfi Local Councils in 1984. It is bordered by Cape Coast Municipality and Lower Denkyira District to the west, Assin District to the north, Mfantseman District to the south and the east. It also shares part of the coastline of the region.
Topology and drainage
The district is basically low-lying with loose quaternary sands.It rises up to 80 metres above sea level. The district is drained by a number of rivers and streams, including the Birim and Kakum.
Climate and vegetation
Vegetation consists of dense scrub tangle in the south stretching from Asebu to Abakrampa. The deciduous forest covers the northern portions and gradually merges with the tropical rain forest of Kakum valley along the south-eastern stretch of the district.
Geology and soil
Geologically, the district consists of mainly upper and lower Birimian rocks and intrusive Tarkwaian rocks.

Dunkwa is a junction station on the narrow gauge
