Freedom movements in India

There have been many Freedom movements going on in India. Following are some of the more prominent:

* Freedom from the Mughals by the Marathas in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries
* Freedom from the Mughals and the British by the Sikhs in the seventeenth through nineteenth centuries
* Freedom from British rule from the seventeenth through the twentieth century
* Kashmir Freedom Movement - Violent rebellion by a section of the Muslim population aided by Pakistan and against Indian rule.
* Assam, Naga and Mizo - Violent rebellion against Indian rule currently aided by Christian Missionaries and at one time aided by China.
* Khalistan Movement (ongoing)
