Puri Beach

Puri beach is situated in Puri, Orissa, India. It is renowned both as a tourist and sacred spot for Hindus.

The beach is also the site of the Puri Beach Festival which is co-sponsored by the Indian government's Ministry of Tourism, the Department of Tourism, Government of Orissa, Development Commissioner of Handicrafts and the Eastern Zonal Cultural Center, Calcutta and conducted by the Hotel and Restaurant Association of Orissa. In July 2007, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik described Puri Beach as one of the best in the country when he called for improved safety for tourists from alleged harassment by hoteliers of Puri and for the move of a drain to protect the beach from pollution.
