Enderby Land

Enderby Land

Enderby Land (coord|67|30|S|53|0|E|) is a projecting land mass of Antarctica, extending from Shinnan Glacier at about 44° 38' E to William Scoresby Bay at 59° 34' E. It was discovered in February 1831 by John Biscoe in the Tula, and named after the Enderby Brothers of London, owners of the Tula, who encouraged their captains to combine exploration with sealing.

Part of the Australian Antarctic Territory, geographic features of Enderby Land include Amundsen Bay, Casey Bay, the Scott Mountains, Tula Mountains, and the Napier Mountains. The highest peaks of the Enderby Land Coast Ranges are Mount McMaster (2830 meters), Mount Elkins (2300 meters), Simpson Peak (1720 meters), and Mount Codrington (1520 meters).
