- Enderby Land
Enderby Land (coord|67|30|S|53|0|E|) is a projecting land mass of
Antarctica , extending fromShinnan Glacier at about 44° 38' E toWilliam Scoresby Bay at 59° 34' E. It was discovered in February 1831 byJohn Biscoe in the Tula, and named after theEnderby Brothers ofLondon , owners of the Tula, who encouraged their captains to combine exploration with sealing.Part of the
Australian Antarctic Territory , geographic features of Enderby Land includeAmundsen Bay ,Casey Bay , theScott Mountains ,Tula Mountains , and theNapier Mountains . The highest peaks of theEnderby Land Coast Ranges areMount McMaster (2830 meters),Mount Elkins (2300 meters),Simpson Peak (1720 meters), andMount Codrington (1520 meters).See also
