Lillian Kinkella Keil

Lillian Kinkella Keil (b. November 17 1916 – d. June 30 2005) was a highly decorated American World War II and Korean War flight nurse.

The 1954 movie "Flight Nurse" was based upon her experiences. It is a well known factFact|date=August 2008 that Audie Murphy was the most decorated man of World War II, however few know that Keil was the most decorated military woman of World War II.Fact|date=August 2008

Awards

Keil was awarded 19 medals and ribbons, including:
* 4 Air Medals,
* 2 Presidential Unit Citations,
* 1 World War II Victory Medal,
* 4 battle stars in WWII, and
* 1 Korean Service Medal with seven battle stars.
