Tony Butler (born Anthony Earle Peter Butler, February 13 1957, Shepherd's Bush, London, England), is a rock bassist, best known for his lengthy work with the Scottish rock band, Big Country.

However, he has also worked with On the Air, The Pretenders, Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend, among others.

He is currently working as a teacher of music practice in North Devon College.

In 2007, to celebrate 25 years of Big Country, he has reunited with founder members Bruce Watson and Mark Brzezicki to embark on a tour of the UK with dates in Scotland and England. They are also rumoured to be going into the studio and record a new album.
