Ricardo Adolfo Jacobo Carty (born September 1 1939 San Pedro de Macoris, Dominican Republic) was a major league baseball player with a 15 year career from 1963-1967, 1969-1970, 1972-1979. He missed the 1968 season with tuberculosis and the 1971 season with a knee injury. He played for the Milwaukee Braves, Atlanta Braves and Chicago Cubs of the National League and the Oakland A's, Cleveland Indians, Toronto Blue Jays and Texas Rangers of the American League. He played catcher, first base, third base, outfield and designated hitter.

He was elected to the National League All-Star team in 1970.

He won the National League batting title in 1970 hitting .366.

He was nicknamed "The Beeg Boy".
