Gateway City is a fictional setting, one of many fictional cities in the DC Universe. It is usually considered to be located in northern California and is similar to the real world city of San Francisco (although San Francisco also exists in the DCU). Initially created for use in stories featuring Mr. Terrific in the 1940s and then in Spectre stories in the late 1960s, Gateway City years later became home to Wonder Woman during John Byrne's run on the title. Prior to becoming commissioner of the Gotham City Police Department, Michael Akins worked for the police of Gateway City.
