August 18 ,1971 in Mesa,Arizona ) was apitcher who played for several teams inMajor League Baseball . He graduated fromMesa Community College . He was drafted by theCleveland Indians in the 20th round of the by|1991major league baseball draft . He was selected by theTampa Bay Devil Rays in the second round (48th pick overall) of theexpansion draft in by|1997. The Devil Rays traded López to theArizona Diamondbacks in by|2001, where he was part of the world series winning team. He was criticized for his poor performance on the team, which lead him to sign with theAtlanta Braves at the end of that season. He then signed with theKansas City Royals for the by|2003 season. He then signed a minor league contract with thePittsburgh Pirates in by|2005, but was released onMarch 23 , 2005. Lopez signed with theSeattle Mariners onApril 19 , 2005, but was released just under a month later onmay 15 .He had a 47-58 career record with a 4.94 ERA. He was an Eastern League All-Star with the
