Vermont/Santa Monica is a station is on the Metro Red line. The station is also referred to as Braille Institute/L.A. City College. This station has an island platform and has two exits. The northern most exit leads to the intersection of Santa Monica Boulevard and Vermont Avenue. The southernmost exit is on the Los Angeles City College, abutting the station. The exit, is a part time one, and is facing Lockwood Avenue.

Architecture

The station was designed by the firm of Ellerbe Becket, which received a progressive architecture award for the design. The station design was created as a series of layers, each of which was unique to its purpose. The most prominent element of the design is the almond shaped structure over the enrtance to the station. The almond shape is repeated in an almond shaped balcony overlooking the station.
