Adam Godley (born 22 July 1964) is a British actor.

Biography

Godley was born in Amersham, Buckinghamshire, England. He was critically lauded for his portrayal of the mentally retarded Michal in 2003's production of The Pillowman at The National Theatre, England.He replaced Paul Rhys in the title role in "Paul" in 2005. In September 2008 he is due to play the role of autistic Raymond Babbet in the theatre production of Rain Man. The part of Charlie Babbet will be played by Josh Hartnett. The Apollo Theatre play is written by Dan Gordon and directed by David Grindley, whose stage credits include Abigail's Party and Journey's End.

Godley played Kenneth Williams in the television movie, "Cor Blimey!" His role was reprised from the stage play, "Cleo, Camping, Emmanuelle and Dick", for which Godley was nominated for the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Supporting Performance. In 2005, he took the role of Jonathan in Mike Leigh's "Two Thousand Years" and in 2006 he played psychologist Gustave Gilbert in BBC docudrama "".

Godley's film roles include Mr. Teavee in "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" and appearances in "Love Actually" and "Nanny McPhee". On December 12, 2007, it was announced he would be guest starring in "". The film was released on July 25, 2008.
