Hoku Garza

Hoku Garza has been a member of the Opihi Pickers ever since the group began in the mid-1990's. It is Hoku's guitar playing that serves as the foundation that holds the group together. Whether Imua is playing a blazing ukulele solo or Kevin is belting out a crowd pleasing rap it is Hoku that keeps the chords and rhythm going.

Hoku has a strong interest in music and also plays the ukulele, bass guitar, percussion, tuere, and Tahitian banjo.

Hoku has studied the history of Tahitian dance and song, Samoan Fire Knife dancing and when he isn't performing with the Opihi Pickers, he can be found dancing professionally for Tihati's.
