Goochya

is a term created by ex Hello! Morning News reader Charmy Ishikawa, alter-ego of ex-Morning Musume member Rika Ishikawa. Combining the words "Good" and "Ciao" to create "Goochya", meaning goodbye. The first appearance of this phrase came on the 20th of October 2002 much to the dismay of the host Yuko Nakazawa.

Since the "creation" of the word, Charmy has used "goochya" on almost every occasion possible. Because of this, in the circles of fans and admirers it has become a popular form of "goodbye" in online forums, though most Japanese don't know of the term.
