John Hackworth is an assistant coach for the United States Men's National Team. He was appointed to that position on October 24, 2007. Prior to this appointment, John was the head coach for the US Under 17 Men's National Team at USSF's
IMG Soccer Academy in Bradenton,Florida . John took over the US Under 17s from former head coachJohn Ellinger in November of2004 after working as his assistant for over two years. Before joining the U.S. Soccer federation coaching staff, John was head coach at theUniversity of South Florida ."John Hackworth" is also the name of a major character in the science fiction novel
