Steiger-60-metres Ferris Wheel
- Steiger-60-metres Ferris Wheel
Steiger-60-metres Ferris Wheel is the largest transportable Ferris wheel in the worldFact|date=March 2008.
It measures 60 meters in diameter and weighs 450 tons. 22 railway cars are necessary to transport it. This Ferris wheel was designed and is still operated by the Steiger showmen company of Bad Oeynhausen. Since 1980 it has been the main attraction at numerous funfairs.
This Ferris wheel was built by the company Knocks in Bremen. The required static computations for the equipment were performed by Dr. Cassens and Jaeschke. Although for the transport of this wheel a whole railway train is necessary, this Ferris wheel was disassembled after the Cannstatter Wasen in Stuttgart in only 4 days and set up on Freimarkt Bremen again, which represents a considerable achievement of transportation logistics.
