I got my mind set on you
I got my mind set on you
I got my mind set on you
I got my mind set on you
But its gonna take money
A whole lotta spending money
It’s gonna take plenty of money
To do it right, child
It’s gonna take time
A whole lot of precious time
It’s gonna take patience and time, mmm
To do it, to do it, to do it, to do it, to do it,
To do it right, child
I got my mind set on you
I got my mind set on you
I got my mind set on you
I got my mind set on you
And this time I know it’s for real
The feeling that I feel
I know if I put my mind to it
I know that I really can do it
I got my mind set on you
Set on you
I got my mind set on you
Set on you
But it’s gonna take money
A whole lotta spending money
It’s gonna take plenty of money
To do it right, child
It’s gonna take time
A whole lot of precious time
It’s gonna take patience and time, mmm
To do it, to do it, to do it, to do it, to do it,
To do it right
I got my mind set on you
I got my mind set on you
I got my mind set on you
I got my mind set on you
And this time I know it’s for real
The feelings that I feel
I know if I put my mind to it
I know that I really can do it
But it’s gonna take money
A whole lotta spending money
It’s gonna take plenty of money
To do it right, child
It’s gonna take time
A whole lot of precious time
It’s gonna take patience and time, mmm
To do it, to do it, to do it, to do it, to do it,
To do it right
Set on you
Set on you
Set on you
Set on you
Set on you
Set on you
Set on you
I got my mind on you
Set on you
Videos
The 80s hit has two videos, one where George is surrounded by inanimate objects that are actually very animated: swaying, dancing and singing around the room. It starts off with his dog in a chair, who seems spooked by either the objects or George coming his way. George plays guitar in his chair while all the objects move until a musical break when he does a back-flip and then his own dance under spotlight in the middle of the room. He then returns to his seat by jumping over the back of it to play guitar and sing again. The other video features Alexis Denisof. It focuses on a boy and a girl in an arcade, and the boy (Denisof) is pining for the girl. He sees that she tries to win a ballerina doll out of game but fails, so as she goes to watch a video of George playing in a band, singing “Got My Mind Set on You,” the boy tries over and over to get the doll for the girl. The boy ends up getting the doll, only after it falls into the video the girl is watching and dances around George and his bandmates. The boy hands the doll to the girl, and one can infer that they live “happily ever after.”
