Area code 664

Area code 664

Area code 664 is the local telephone area code of Montserrat. The 664 area code, or "MOI" was created during a split from the original 809 area code, which was done around July 1996.

When in Montserrat, use the seven digits alone. When calling to Montserrat from anywhere in the United States or Canada simply dial 1-664- and the seven-digit phone number.

Some claim the small island could get by with only using four digit phone numbers, as the first three digits are the same for everyone. The single telephone exchange makes it by far the least-used in the NANP, leading some to feel that it is a complete waste of an area code that will be needed elsewhere later on.Fact|date=May 2008
